Raised on DIY hardcore punk. Gareth de Wijk aka Thrasher has been non stop writing, recording & touring the world with numerous bands since the early age of 15.
Begin 2000 his passion and interest for the more extreme forms of underground music got him hooked on dark, fast & heavy electronic music. Fuelling a deep love for UK infused hardcore, hard as nails drum & bass and the most brutal breakcore out there. This was the start of a new musical chapter.. Ongoing ever since..
Thrasher has been f*cking the electronic hardcore system since launching PRSPCT in 2002. A true embodiment of the PRSPCT label and event series that has gone on to conquer the world. Thrasher’s notorious DJ performances that cut between the hardest hitting, out of the box Industrial, UK hardcore, drum & bass, breakcore and more, have taken him to all corners of the globe.
Whether it’s a huge festival, a warehouse rave, sweaty basement or club show… The PRSPCT chief crushes them all.
Over the years Thrasher has been involved in countless musical projects. From writing & (co) producing tracks with a diverse range of electronic artists to fronting bands like The Hard Way, The Dead Cvlt & TDC INC. All while also running the PRSPCT Recording labels and its affiliated RVLT artist agency.
In 2024, frustrated at the current state of hardcore, drum and bass and the world in general, Thrasher decided it was necessary to focus more on his own productions again. Hitting the studio hard, unleashing his inner creative beast.
Thrasher released his debut Deathant EP titled “Rotterdam Hardcore” that same year.
A 4 track UK hardcore techno onslaught already considered a classic in the genre.
Followed up by a killer hardcore drum & bass remix of Kronos by Donny & Katharsys, on Barcode recordings in 2025 as well a his solo hardcore track titled “Underground Radical”, featured on the official Thunderdome CD, that same year.
Thrasher’s highly anticipated 2nd EP on Deathchant titled “Underground Radical”, hit the streets in April 2026. Selling out almost instantly and receiving heavy support from a wide range of respected artists in the scene.
Thrasher’s unique vision has been setting new foundations for the future of UK hardcore techno. Bringing back that rebellious unpolished uncompromising punk as F*** underground sound that shaped and defined the genre.
And honestly… This is only the beginning…
With his debut full length solo album hitting the streets on PRSPCT recording later this year, it’s clear that Thrasher is a man on a mission. Determined to keep underground hardcore and drum & bass alive and kicking in a non confirmative way.
